What she says about the "us" vs. "them" situation... I've seen quite a few company leaders who seem to think exactly like that, and they're quite charismatic. By building up an "evil enemy," perhaps they hope to motivate their crews to do anything in the name of winning.
On the other hand, if the tech to see whether someone is susceptible to this type of thinking becomes available, the potential for misuse is indeed chilling. I'm not even sure how it would be used properly, though -- people think how they think, and changing it with drugs or by getting them hooked on a "safe," cult-like group isn't exactly an ethical solution either.
