Gone Fishing

Cozumelczm06_uw060503ps018_edited_3 OK, not exactly gone fishing. More like, gone swimming with the fishes.  Hopefully not in the sense that expression was used on "The Sopranos."

Ann and I leave at oh-dark-thirty Sunday morning. I will not be taking a laptop (what's THAT gonna be like?)  so I will not be checking my e-mail. So, if the secrets of the universe are revealed during this time, somebody please make a note and send me the link.

By the time we get back the primaries will be over.  Hopefully there will only be one Democrat still in the race.

Keith Tears Hillary a New One

...and I think he really means it this time:

and just in case you don't know what he's talking about, here's the original video:

What Do You Say...

...we call it a draw?

Pefectly Sublime

Deck_2 The sun is shining, the temperature is still in the mid-60s, and I'm out on the deck catching up on e-mail, forums, and blogs.  We're having an "extended spring" here in Middle Tennessee (it's usually in the 80s by now) an I'm making the best of it. iPhone photo by Ann, of course.

Sadly, These Are...

...my people.  Well, Tenneeseeans, anyway, and probably Nashvillian's to boot:

Just see if you can make it to the second guy without retching. Then I think you'll understand what "clinging to religion and guns" really means.

Remember when...

Candy .... your mother told you to never take candy from a stranger?

This has got to be the guy she was talking about.

Now Here's Something...

Volcanoupi_800x531 ...you don't see every day.

Few sights in nature can compare to the sheer magnificence of a volcano erupting in full flow.

But while scenes of molten lava are relatively commonplace, this otherworldly picture of Chaiten Volcano in southern Chile shows a truly spectacular, and devastating, volcanic phenomenon.

As clouds of toxic ash and dust tower into the sky, they ionise the air, generating an explosive electrical storm. Colossal forks of lightning spark around the noxious plume as it spews from the volcano's crater, creating an image of raw, terrifying energy - as if the air itself were ablaze.

In Case You Think...

Hillaryclintonps ...there is something noble or valiant about Hillary's relentless campaign, read this:

Why is the media even covering her? The only stories that should be written about Hillary Clinton is how much damage she's causing our party. How she's hurting fundraising at the DNC - they even admitted it, they're not raising the money they need to fight John McCain because of this woman. Why don't you write some stories about how she is hurting our candidates who can't fundraise because of her? How she has forced EMILY's List and AFSCME and the AFT to waste their money because of her. How she has caused a civil war in the Netroots. Five months ago we all felt that we had 3 great candidates. Now, far too many of us loathe Hillary Clinton, and she has done her racist best to ensure that her supporters can't stand Barack Obama either.

Too bad whatzername retracted her "monster" critique a couple of weeks (months?  years?) ago.  More proof that a "gaffe" is when somebody actually dares to speak the truth.
